As a K–4 school-based Special Education Teacher in Winnetka, Illinois, your days will include:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a K–4 resource classroom.
\n
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs.
\n
• Adapt lessons, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support student learning.
\n
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
\n
• Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction and IEP goals.
\n
• Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral development.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings.
\n

Job Details

\n
• Position: One on-site contract opening in an elementary school resource setting
\n
• Hours: 35.75 paid hours per week, Monday–Friday; 30-minute unpaid lunch daily
\n
• Caseload: Kindergarten–4th grade; 8–10 students
\n
• Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:15 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday: 8:15 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
\n
• Assignment: ASAP through the end of the school year
\n
• Interviews: Virtual, anticipated within 24–48 hours
\n
• Work Setting: On-site; remote and hybrid assignments are unavailable
\n

Successful Candidates Possess

\n
• An Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement (required)
\n
• Education and training in special education
\n
• Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)
\n
• The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
\n
• Note: New graduates may be considered
